Antique Tea Room Marriage opened in Urawa, Saitama Prefecture, in November 2023. It quickly became a popular tea room, with reservations becoming hard to come by. The high-quality tea brewed by Mari Nishizawa, who has taught tea classes for many years, and the sweets made by Hajime Takezawa, who grew up in England, where he enjoyed afternoon tea and British sweets, and learned how to make them at a British cake house, are both exquisite. The tea room is decorated like a Western-style mansion, and is filled with precious antiques, including tableware, furniture, decorations, and even a doll that casually watches over customers in the corner of the tea room.

Yumi Koseki, an expert on British culture, will introduce the charm of Marriage. We will explore the secrets of Marriage's elegant tea and sweets, which you will want to enjoy again and again, including Nishizawa's method of brewing delicious tea and his particular attention to tea leaves, Takezawa's sweet-making techniques, and his thoughts on pairing tea and sweets for afternoon tea.
We will also explain the antiques that are unique to marriage, including many valuable items that even antique buyers rarely come across.

Marriage Tea Room is a relaxing space with many repeat customers who want to stay for hours. This book is packed with the essence of elegant tea time. Enjoy the marriage of tea, sweets, and antiques.

This book introduces the appeal of mezcal as a Mexican distilled spirit from various angles, while also carefully focusing on the culture, climate, history, and connections with the people behind it.
This book provides an easy-to-understand explanation of the basics of mezcal, including its definition, production methods, the types of agave used, and regional characteristics, as well as introducing the voices of local producers. Furthermore, through interviews with people involved in Mexico and mezcal in both Japan and Mexico, the book explores the depth of mezcal from a global perspective.
Based on on-site interviews, the book also features information on various mezcal-producing regions, primarily in Oaxaca. It also features vivid photographs of the distillery scenes and artisans.

Furthermore, this book goes beyond mezcal to explore the cultural appeal of Mexico, including its food culture, restaurants, ingredients, artesanal goods, and even festivals and customs. In particular, a special feature is devoted to the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos), which is gaining attention in Japan, providing detailed explanations of its background and local events. The book also covers Guelaguetza, Oaxaca's largest festival, and Feria del Mezcal Oaxaca, one of Mexico's largest mezcal events, as upcoming events to watch.

The author has been involved in the establishment of "Mezcal Day" in Japan under the auspices of the Mexican Embassy, and has worked hard to popularize mezcal by supporting the planning of visits to Japan by mezcal producers and owners, as well as brand promotions. Drawing on his experience of visiting Mexico more than 25 times and visiting approximately 100 tequila distilleries and nearly 30 mezcal distilleries, the book is written with a realistic perspective and a passionate tone.

This book will allow you to experience everything from the basics of mezcal to the culture and local atmosphere.
This book is recommended not only for those who want to learn more about mezcal, but also for anyone who wants to use this book to discover the depths of Mexico.
