■What determines the brightness of the red moon during a lunar eclipse?
A total lunar eclipse will occur across Japan on the evening of March 3rd. The Moon will begin to wane in the eastern sky at 6:50 PM, and will be fully eclipsed at 8:04 PM. The total eclipse ends at 9:03 PM, after which the Moon returns to its original shape, completing the partial eclipse at 10:18 PM, making it an easy-to-observe total lunar eclipse. The brightness of the copper-red Moon varies each time during a total eclipse, and we will explain this difference in brightness by comparing the conditions of previous total lunar eclipses, and also predict the brightness of this total lunar eclipse.

■ Geminid meteor shower in Saipan
Observing the Geminid meteor shower in December usually requires patience and freezing in the cold, but in Saipan, where it is warm and in the dry season, a local "Geminid Meteor Shower Observation Tour" was held with the aim of observing and photographing the Geminid meteor shower. We will introduce the Geminid meteor shower observation tour, which took place in the specially opened Grotto, also known as the Blue Cave, which is closed to cars at night.
