■Will They Brighten Up?! Promising Comets C/2026 A1 & C/2025 R3
Comet MAPS (C/2026 A1) is a small comet with an orbit that brings it very close to the sun, classifying it as a "sungrazer" comet. Sungrazer comets can brighten dramatically or even disintegrate as they pass the sun. In early to mid-April, Comet MAPS, having passed its perihelion, may be visible with a tail in the western sky at dusk. The other comet, Comet PanSTARRS (C/2025 R3), may be visible to the naked eye in the eastern sky at dawn after mid-April.
