
■Starry sky landscape photography style -Shiretoko, Hokkaido-
Hokkaido is home to many fascinating landscapes, and following on from last month's Niseko, this month nature photographer Junichi Yamamoto will be guiding us through Shiretoko's starry sky photography spots from autumn to winter, along with some beautiful starry sky photos.
■The giant prominence that appeared on August 20th We present some valuable images capturing the changes in the giant prominence that appeared on the cover of this magazine on August 20th. The images shown are a collection of 12 images taken over a 15-minute period between 2:03 PM and 2:18 PM, and show that the giant prominence had almost completely disappeared by 2:30 PM.
■Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS | Sports
This is the world's first telephoto prime lens compatible with full-frame mirrorless cameras, achieving a bright 200mm F2 aperture. It's expected to be useful for photographing comets, deep sky astronomy using interference filters, and astronomy using a CMOS camera. It's a highly anticipated mid-telephoto lens, ideal for photographing Comet Lemmon, which will be visible in early November. We'll report on its capabilities with actual images.
This is a report on the Tainai Star Festival, held every August at Tainaidai in Tainai City, Niigata Prefecture. This year, over 20,000 people participated from all over the country. In addition to the events held at the venue, we will also introduce the participating telescope manufacturers and retailers, as well as the participants' enjoyment of the Star Festival.
