Along the summer Milky Way, numerous impressive celestial objects such as nebulae and star clusters are scattered. This poster shows the locations of nebulae, star clusters, and other celestial objects around the Milky Way that are best seen from summer to early autumn, and clarifies their shapes. It can be used for astrophotography, observation, and stargazing walks along the Milky Way using not only astronomical telescopes but also binoculars and smart telescopes, which have recently gained popularity.
■"Star Journey Miyako Islands & MIYAKO GALAXY-DOME"
The Miyako Islands are known as one of Japan's leading planetary observation sites. Blessed with stable air currents, many astronomy enthusiasts and astrophotographers have visited for planetary observation and photography since ancient times. In recent years, it has also attracted attention as a shooting location for "starry sky landscapes," combining beautiful tropical scenery with a sky full of stars. This article introduces suitable spots for starry sky landscape photography, mainly on Miyako Island and Kurima Island, along with examples. Furthermore, it introduces "MIYAKO GALAXY-DOME," an astronomical facility that opened at Miyakojima Kurima Seawood Hotel on Kurima Island. It explains the features and ways to enjoy this new facility, which combines an observatory with a 350mm aperture large telescope and an LED planetarium, and explores the charm of the starry sky experience in the Miyako Islands.
