―Visual Expressions Woven from Things and Events

Since the latter half of the 2010s, the culture of streaming by VTubers and streamers has rapidly spread, forming a unique visual culture. The diverse expressions generated there, such as character designs, logotypes, streaming screens, thumbnails, and event graphics, not only shape the individuality and activities of the streamers but also evolve and change within their relationship with fans.

This feature focuses on 18 creators active in the field of distribution and streaming, introducing their work and the background of their creation. It explores the thoughts and techniques behind the design surrounding VTubers and streamers. Additionally, it includes contributions on fandom and communities that support streaming culture, and the economic background of the VTuber industry. This feature documents the current state of design for distribution and streaming, where "things" and "events" intersect in digital space.
