Introducing the next-generation smart telescope, ZWO Seestar S30. The new smart telescope, "Seestar S30," is small, lightweight, and affordable. Until now, smart telescopes have been aimed at astronomy enthusiasts, but the "Seestar S30" is an easy-to-use, inexpensive product for astronomy beginners that also boasts performance approaching that of higher-end models. You can observe and photograph celestial bodies with just this one device! Astrophotographer Shigemi Numazawa reports on its capabilities.

■Hα Solar Telescope "Phoenix" Report "Phoenix" can be used as a 40mm telescope for Hα solar observation during the day, and as an ordinary 80mm telescope for observing the moon, planets, nebulae, etc. by removing the solar observation filter unit attached to the front of the objective lens at night. "Phoenix" is attracting attention as a 2-in-1 telescope, but we will introduce its performance as an Hα solar observation telescope, which is attracting particular attention.

■PHOTO GALLERY
There was a lot of noteworthy astronomical phenomena between December 2024 and January 2025. So this month, we will introduce photos captured by readers of the Saturn occultation, the Shibungi meteor shower, the close approach of Mars, and the C/2024 G3 Comet ATLAS, which suddenly brightened in the Southern Hemisphere in mid-January and became a naked-eye comet.

■ Construction of the solar spectrometer Sol'Ex⑤
This is a series of articles that introduces the process from building a French solar spectrometer kit to actual observations. The fifth and final installment is an applied version that introduces a method to capture solar wavelengths that cannot be observed with commercially available solar telescopes.
