Special Feature: Graphic Designers and Exhibitions vol. 2

Following the 2017 special feature "Graphic Designers and Exhibitions - The Brno International Graphic Design Biennale and Global Practices," this is the second instalment to examine the current situation surrounding graphic design and exhibitions.

Focusing on the Middle East's first design biennale, the Fikra Graphic Design Biennale, held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last November, this study considers the nature of design biennales in non-Western countries based on the A to Z keywords collected from participating designers.

The special feature also includes valuable content that offers a glimpse into the Middle Eastern design scene, such as an essay on Arabic typography and interviews with designers based in the Middle East.
Through the Biennale, we will look at the future of graphic design in the Middle East.
