The keyword is "border crossing." We will introduce the appeal of overseas manga translated into Japanese that connects with the world.

By 2019, Japan's domestic comics market had grown by 12.8% from the previous year to an estimated 500 billion yen, and with the rise of smartphone services, the digital comics market has grown faster than the paper market.
Japanese manga continues to be popular overseas, and there is a steady stream of Japanese comic works being translated into various languages in Europe, the United States, Asia, the Middle East, and other countries.
On the other hand, when it comes to Japanese translations of foreign works, it cannot be said that there are many opportunities for them to be published.
Although manga expression has spread around the world, transcending different cultures and languages, opportunities for people to actually pick up and immerse themselves in the wide variety of manga works that exist all over the world are still very limited.

This special feature has been planned and supervised by Hara Masato, a translator of French-language manga, "Bon dessinées," who is also active in introducing foreign manga and publishing foreign manga translated into Japanese. The special feature will introduce a carefully selected selection of relatively new works and authors published in recent years, as well as works that have been highly acclaimed for their graphics, from foreign manga, whose full picture is difficult to grasp.
We hope that both those who have been familiar with foreign manga until now and those who have not will enjoy this special feature, as it will serve as an opportunity to encounter and become familiar with manga as a starting point for connecting yourself with the world.
